Credits exhausted, hosted credits, and own keys
Know what happens when hosted credits run low and when Studio keys help.
When hosted credits run out, you may need to wait for reset, buy a pack, narrow the next request, or upgrade. Studio accounts can use advanced provider keys when direct provider billing is the right operating model.
How to use this
- 1Read the Studio message when credits are low or exhausted.
- 2Choose a smaller next request if you still have some room.
- 3Use a pack or upgrade if the project needs more hosted work now.
- 4Use Studio provider keys only when your organization wants direct provider billing.
Keep in mind
- Own provider keys are not available on First Look or Maker.
- Direct provider billing shifts AI usage cost to your provider account.
- A low-credit warning is a good time to reduce scope.
